Account setup

Sign up, verify your email, and choose a strong password.

1. Sign up

Visit the sign-up page and enter:

• A username (3–32 characters; letters, numbers, hyphen, underscore).
• An email address you actually check — we use it for verification, security alerts, and billing notices.
• A password (minimum 12 characters).

We hash passwords with Argon2id and check them against the HaveIBeenPwned breach database — if your password appears in a known breach, we'll reject it.

2. Verify your email

After signing up, we send a verification link to your email address. Click the link in the email to activate your account. You can't run a bot until the email is verified.

If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes:

• Check your spam / junk folder.
• From the sign-up page, click "Resend verification email."
• If it still doesn't arrive, email support@volatility.farm.

3. Choose a strong password

We don't enforce any specific character mix — 12 characters is the only hard rule. But a password manager–generated random string is better than anything you'd remember. The HIBP check we run will reject the obvious bad choices.

4. Next step

Once your email is verified, the next thing you need is your Kraken API key + secret. See Kraken API keys.

5. Two-factor authentication

Right after Kraken keys, you'll be prompted to set up TOTP (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, etc.). 2FA is required for all accounts — see Setting up two-factor authentication.
